The range from 30-40 yards out is no man's land. Even the pros don't like to play from here. Here's a shot that will get you close, and it can be used to get you out of trouble on other places around the course.

You can use different clubs, from your sand wedge to your 8-iron, to hit this shot different distances, but using the same-sized stroke.

Be creative with this shot. I used a 5-iron once to get on the green from under a tree from about 80 yards out.
